ABSTRACT:
A process for the production of low molecular weight polymers by free radical polymerization of one or more monomers in the presence of a chain transfer agent, wherein the chain transfer agent comprises one or more compounds of the general formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or a group capable of activating the carbon-sulfur double bond towards free radical addition; and
