ABSTRACT:
Photographic elements and diffusion transfer assemblages are described which contain a novel mordant comprising a polymeric backbone having appended thereto nitrogen-coordinating ligands having the formula: ##STR1## wherein D.sup.1, D.sup.2, D.sup.3 each independently represents the atoms necessary to complete an aromatic heterocyclic nucleus having at least one ring of 5 to 7 atoms.
In a preferred embodiment, the mordant comprises recurring units having the formula: ##STR2## wherein: R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represents hydrogen or an alkyl or substituted alkyl group having from 1 to about 6 carbon atoms;
