A polymer electrolyte of high durability consistent with the present invention is characterized as including a first repeating unit represented by a general formulain-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?—{C(Z1)(Z2)—C(Z3)(Z4—SO3H)}—in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?(where Z1, Z2, Z3, and Z4are respectively F or Rf1, F or Rf2, F or Rf3, and nothing or Rf4; andeach of Rf1, to Rf4is a perfluoroalkyl group in which the carbon number is from 1 to 10) in a polymer chain, and having an equivalent weight of 2500 g/eq or less.
