The present invention relates to polyisocyanate mixtures prepared from 1,6-diisocyanatohexane (HDI) and 1-isocyanato-3,3,5-trimethyl-5-isocyanatomethyl cyclohexane (IPDI), which have a uretdione content (calculated as C.sub.2 N.sub.2 O.sub.2) of 8 to 25% by weight and an isocyanurate content (calculated as C.sub.3 N.sub.3.sub.O.sub.3) of not more than 24% by weight and contain
