ABSTRACT:
A polyimide resin having a repeating unit of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a tetravalent organic group constituting a tetracarboxylic acid or its derivative, wherein four atoms directly bonded to the four carbonyl groups are carbon atoms having no unsaturated bond, and R.sub.2 is a bivalent organic group constituting a diamine.
