ABSTRACT:
Polyhydroxyl non-ionic surface active agents, for use in a cosmetic composition such as hair dye or shampoo composition is prepared by condensing glycidol on a polyhydroxyl fatty chain reactant in the presence of an acid catalyst at a temperature of 50.degree.-120.degree. C.
