ABSTRACT:
A white biaxially oriented polyester film for use as a base film for receiving an ink jet printer image and a base film for receiving an ink jet printer image which satisfy the following requirements (1) to (4):(1) the content of titanium oxide particles having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 0.5 μm in the polyester film is 5 to 20 wt %;(2) the polyester film has an average glossiness of 65 to 95%;(3) the polyester film has an X-ray diffraction intensity ratio (F-1/F-2) represented by the following formal (1):in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?0.05≦F-1/F-2≦0.15 (1)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"? wherein (F-1) is an X-ray diffraction intensity on a plane (1{overscore (1)}0) parallel to the surface of the film and (F-2) is an X-ray diffraction intensity on a plane (100) parallel to the surface of the film; and(4) the polyester film has a static friction coefficient of 0.3 to 0.6.The base film for receiving an ink jet printer image of the present invention is excellent in adhesion, glossiness, opacifying properties and transportability.
