The composition comprises a poly(phenylene sulfide) resin pre-cured in a non-oxidative, inert gas atmosphere and a fibrous glass reinforcement exhibiting a very low weight loss on heating. The poly(phenylene sulfide) resin has, before curing, a melt viscosity of greater than about 400 poises at 300.degree. C.
