ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is a polyester molding composition containing a reinforcing material and a halogenated flame retardant, the polyester containing repeat units from terephthalic acid and 1,4-cyclohexane-dimethanol, the composition further comprising an additive system which enhances the flame retardancy thereof without detrimental loss of mechanical properties, said composition characterized as having a heat deflection temperature of greater than 250.degree. C., a tensile strength of greater than 16,000 psi, a flexural strength of greater than 21,500 psi and a notched Izod impact strength of greater than 1.5.
