ABSTRACT:
A polarization switching/variable directivity antenna according to the present invention includes a ground conductor plate12on a surface of a dielectric substrate11, and has a radiation element13, a directivity switching element15, and polarization switching elements16provided on the ground conductor plate12side of the dielectric substrate11. The radiation element13includes a first slot17aformed by removing a loop-like portion from the ground conductor plate12. The directivity switching element15includes a second slot17bformed by removing a loop-like portion from the ground conductor plate12and directivity switching switches18. The polarization switching elements16includes a third slot17cformed by removing a linear-shaped portion from the ground conductor plate12and polarization switching switches19ato19d. Through control of the directivity switching switches18, switching of a maximum gain direction of radiation directivity of the antenna is realized. Through control of the polarization switching switches19ato19d, switching of a rotation direction of a circularly polarized wave which is emitted from the antenna can be realized.
