ABSTRACT:
A pneumatic tire having a tread composed of a matrix rubber, a low hardness rubber powder, hollow particulates, and short fibers, and optionally a liquid polymer, wherein the low hardness rubber powder has an average particle size of less than 1000 .mu.m, including or not including no more than 20 parts by weight of carbon per 100 parts by weight of the rubber component in the low hardness rubber powder, and is contained in an amount of 1 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the matrix rubber, the hollow particulates have an average particle size of 10 to 120 .mu.m and an average thickness of 0.1 to 15 .mu.m, and the short fibers have an aspect ratio (ratio of length/diameter) of 10 to 1000.
