A pneumatic tire includes main grooves1extending substantially in a circumferential direction R of the tire, transverse grooves2connecting adjacent main grooves, and blocks3formed by adjacent main grooves and adjacent transverse grooves. Each block3has an acute corner portion3aand an obtuse corner portion3band also has a groove side extending along the main groove1between the acute corner portion3aand the obtuse corner portion3b. An inclination angle a1of the groove side increases from the obtuse corner portion3btoward the acute corner portion3a. An extending direction1aof the main groove1at a tread surface level is inclined toward one side of the main groove1with respect to the circumferential direction R of the tire, while an extending direction of the main groove1at a groove bottom level is inclined toward the other side.
