ABSTRACT:
A transparent film of material is deposited on a PLZT plate used in a light modulator. The film is substantially less resistive than the PLZT plate and prevents light leakage in the OFF state due to space-charge accumulation. Suitable materials include SiO.sub.2 and TiO.sub.2.
