ABSTRACT:
A plug-type closure for a bottle, e.g. a wine bottle "cork" consists of a unitary circular cross section plug having a thin-wall core spacedly surrounded by the outer member and a plurality of radial webs bridging the outer member core. The core is formed with a corkscrew-shaped cavity including a screw-shaped groove whose depth and radius decreases progressively toward the bottom of the plug.
