An accurate working of the convex surface of the plug pin is possible without any problems in that its outer convex surface is provided on at least a part of its length with a coating, having a thickness of less than 300 .mu.m, in particular less than 150 .mu.m, of a material which can be subjected to a chipping treatment better than the basic material.
