ABSTRACT:
A partition wall defines individual discharge cells. A second lateral wall partitions each of the discharge cells into a display discharge cell opposing two transparent electrodes of the paired row electrodes and allowing for a sustain discharge, and an addressing discharge cell opposing a bus electrode of one of the paired row electrodes and allowing for an addressing discharge produced between the bus electrode and a column electrode. A clearance is provided between the display discharge cell and the addressing discharge cell to establish communication from the addressing discharge cell to the display discharge cell. A high γ material layer is provided on an area facing the addressing discharge cell.
