ABSTRACT:
The vehicle rack mounts equipment to the back end of a vehicle. It includes a hitch connector for attaching the rack to the vehicle. A first horizontal arm attaches to the hitch connector, and a second horizontal arm attaches to the first horizontal arm. A post extends upright from the second arm. In the stored position, the second arm folds against the first arm. In that position, the post is centered behind the vehicle. The second arm can pivot 180.degree. such that the post is beyond the vehicle side. An equipment carrier on top of the post can pivot the equipment 90.degree. so that it does not contact the vehicle side when the arms open. The equipment carrier also can pivot when the rack is closed so that the carrier does not extend too far behind the vehicle.
