ABSTRACT:
A number of embodiments of direct piston pin lubrication systems for reciprocating machines such as internal combustion engines. In all of the embodiments, the hollow interior of the piston pin is employed as a distribution passage with radial drillings extending through the piston pin for lubricating the various journals thereof. In some embodiments, the lubricant is sprayed through the wall of the cylinder bore directly into the piston pin and in others it is delivered through a passage formed in the piston.
