ABSTRACT:
A pinion slip-off preventive structure of a starting apparatus is provided in which a bearing applied to a snap ring17can be decreased to make the snap ring17less prone to being worn out and damaged, thus preventing the snap ring17from slipping off from a pinion shaft7. The pinion slip-off preventive structure includes a projected portion52extending from an end face of the pinion shaft7in an axial direction thereof and having a groove51formed on a smooth surface thereof in a circumferential direction thereof, the snap ring17fitted in the groove51, and a stopper57having an abutting surface54in abutting engagement with an end face of the pinion9and an engaging portion56engaged with the snap ring17.
