ABSTRACT:
Photopolymerizable binders for printing inks, coatings and printing plates, based on olefinically unsaturated compounds, with or without a polymeric binder component, and containing a diaminobenzophenone compound as the photosensitizer, are improved in respect of their toxicity and shelf life if the diaminobenzophenone compound has the formula R.sup.1 R.sup.2 N--C.sub.6 H.sub.4 --CO--C.sub.6 H.sub.4 --NR.sup.3 R.sup.4, where R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 are H(OR.sup.5).sub.x radicals, R.sup.5 being alkylene of 2 or 3 carbon atoms and x being 1, 2 or 3, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.4 are each alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or are radicals of the type of R.sup.1 and R.sup.3.
