ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material having on a support a hydrophilic colloidal layer containing a basic polymer, and at least one styryl or butadienyl dye represented by the following general formula (I) and having at least three sulfo groups in a dye molecule: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same or different, each represents an alkyl group; R.sub.3 represents an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or alkenyl group; L represents --O--Y--SO.sub.3 M or ##STR2## in which Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group, an acyl group or --Y--SO.sub.3 M, Y represents an alkylene or alkenylene group, and M represents a cation; X.sub.1, X.sub.2 and X.sub.3, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a hydroxy group, a carboxy group, a substituted amino group or an alkoxycarbonyl group; m is 0 or 1; and n is 1 or 2.
