ABSTRACT:
The invention provides a spool for winding a photographic roll film. The spool has a bar-shaped spool core which is slitted to lengthwise direction to form a slit for inserting a tongue-shaped end of the film having a through hole. On an inside wall of the slit, there is provided a catch claw capable of engaging the through hole. On another inside wall opposite to the above inside wall, there is provided a pressing rib for pressing and guiding the tongue-shaped end to the catch claw. A part of the outer surface of the spool core, adjoining to the inside wall of the slit in which is disposed the pressing rib, is shaped to serve as a film contact surface. The tip surface of the pressing rib and the film contact surface both jointly form a continuous shape of a circular arc.
