ABSTRACT:
A photographic element comprising a support having provided thereon a light-sensitive layer and a transparent magnetic recording layer, the magnetic recording layer comprising a transparent polymeric binder, ferro-magnetic particles and reinforcing filler particles, the magnetic particles having a surface area greater than 30 m.sup.2 /gm and a coverage of from about 1.times.10.sup.-11 mg/.mu.m.sup.3 to about 1.times.10.sup.-10 mg/.mu.m.sup.3, the filler particles having a median diameter less than 0.15 .mu.m, a Mohs hardness of at least 6 and being present in the transparent magnetic layer in an amount of about 20% to about 300% by weight based on the weight of the polymeric binder present.
