ABSTRACT:
A photographic element comprising a support having thereon at least one layer containing a polymeric mordant containing a repeating unit represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, which may be the same or different, each represents a methyl group or an ethyl group; Y represents a halogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group, a methoxy group, a methoxycarbonyl group or an ethylthio group; and X.crclbar. represents an anion.
