ABSTRACT:
A photographic base paper in which the resin coating contains a stabilizer of formula, ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a sterically hindered hydroxyphenyl R.sup.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, and x is 1 to 4, or a metal salt of the corresponding phosphonate anion.
