ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to phosphotyrosine mimics which, when incorporated into an appropriate molecular structure, are capable of inhibiting the binding of tyrosine kinase-dependent regulatory proteins to the native phosphotyrosine-containing receptors. This invention also relates to methods and kits for identifying and using phosphotyrosine mimics. The compounds, kits and methods of this invention are useful for identifying and designing antagonists of tyrosine-kinase dependent regulatory proteins, such as signal transduction proteins containing SH.sub.2 binding domains.
