ABSTRACT:
A polymer including as integral parts of polymer chain, amide groups of the formula ##STR1## and phosphinic acid-salt groups of the formula ##STR2## wherein a and b are both greater than or equal to 2 and M is selected from the group of metal cations where n=1 or n=2.
The polymer of the present invention is particularly useful in forming stain-resistant fibers for carpet pile.
