ABSTRACT:
Lipopeptides of the formula, R--X--(P.sub.1).sub.x -(L--Ala--L--Ala--P.sub.2 --A wherein x is 0 or 1, R is the acyl residue of a hydrophobic carboxylic acid, P.sub.2 is, for instance, L--Ala, L--Val, L--Pro--L--Ala or L--Pro--L--Val, P.sub.1 is a residue of an amino acid or an oligopeptide formed from 2-8 amino acids, X represent a divalent group or a direct covalent bond and A represents the C-terminal portion (modified or not) of --(P.sub.1).sub.x --(Ala--Ala--P.sub.2). These lipopeptides can be used as elastase inhibitors.
