ABSTRACT:
At least two paving screeds B1, B2which are distant in operation running direction R are supported at a chassis1of a paver F. The paver F is designed for simultaneously casting several paving material layers L1, L2on top of each other on a plane P. Each paving screed B1, B2is provided with a compaction assembly. One paving screed B1for casting a lower layer L1is provided at a front end section of the chassis1and has the compaction assembly13, 14for generating a degree of compaction in the lower layer L1which suffices to withstand the direct contact of the undercarriage2. At least one further paving screed B2for casting an upper layer L2is arranged behind the undercarriage2. According to the method to be carried out with the paver F the lower layer which is cast and compacted in front of the undercarriage allows to run the undercarriage2on the lower layer while the upper layer L2is cast and compacted behind the undercarriage2.
