ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to pattern blocks in the tread of a vehicle tire, the tread comprising the tread layer (20) on the tire carcass (25) and on that pattern blocks (1) separated from each other by wider grooves (21). At least part of these pattern blocks comprise fine slits (2), which are substantially narrower than the grooves, each slit comprising within the area (A1) of the pattern block at least one bend (5) or at least one end (4). Two adjacent slits (2) form surface tear points (10), each of which is formed of: webs (3a,3b) between at least one end (4) of one slit and at least one second slit or its end; or webs (3c,3d) between the bend of one slit and one second slit or its bend (5). The web width (W2) of the webs is at most five times the slit width (W2), and the adjacent slits restrict between their mutual webs (3a-3d) between them nubs (8) inside the pattern block.
