ABSTRACT:
A hydrocarbon cracking catalyst the effectiveness of which is impaired by deposition thereon of a metal contaminant, e.g., vanadium, iron and/or nickel, is treated with an antimony tris (hydrocarbyl sulfonate) to passivate the contaminant metal.
