ABSTRACT:
A particulate built synthetic organic detergent composition which includes a synthetic organic detergent which is an anionic detergent, a nonionic detergent or a mixture thereof, and a building proportion of a water soluble and/or water insoluble builder, includes a dispensing assisting proportion of a siliconate. The detergent composition described preferably also includes bentonite as a fabric softening agent. Also described is a method of making the heavy duty laundry detergent composition which includes spray drying a crutcher mix of the synthetic organic detergent(s) and the builder(s) to particles of desired size and applying to the surfaces of such particles a dispensing assisting proportion of a siliconate.
