ABSTRACT:
An omni-direction array22of wind turbine assemblies10is positioned upon and about the periphery of the roof of a building. Each wind turbine assembly10comprises a self supporting modular box-shaped housing12having an inlet and outlet for accelerating the flow of air therethrough. Turbine14comprises a hub27, a peripheral band28and vanes25having proximal and distal ends positioned there between and having a ring gear18positioned on the peripheral band in mechanical communication with a plurality of generators20for converting wind energy into electricity. Parabolic collectors16are positioned and attached to the inlet and outlet of the housing12for collecting, concentrating, directing and accelerating wind through the turbine14in the throat section of the assembly. Each self supporting box-shaped modular housing12is structurally communicated with other housings12by interlocking mating surfaces26.
