ABSTRACT:
A paper coating composition consisting essentially of an aqueous plastic dispersion which is based on .alpha.-methyleneglutaronitrile, a C.sub.8 - to C.sub.12 - monovinylaromatic compound, a plasticizing component selected from the group consisting of C.sub.4 - to C.sub.6 acyclic, conjugated diolefines and C.sub.4 - to C.sub.8 - alkyl (meth)acrylates, and a C.sub.3 - to C.sub.6 .alpha., .beta.-monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid as binder, and conventional auxiliaries.
