ABSTRACT:
A process for the production of a multicoloured paint which comprises admixing two or more differently coloured aqueous polymer emulsions, each containing polyvinyl alcohol as a protective colloid, with an aqueous solution of borax to form a multicoloured paint dispersion consisting of discrete coloured aqueous polymer emulsion particles as the disperse phases in an aqueous continuous phase of the borax solution, a clay of the formula ##EQU1## WHEREIN M is a cation, x is a value greater than zero and less than 6, y is from 1.00 up to but less than 4 and n is an integer from 1 to 3, being incorporated into the continuous phase to stabilize the paint produced.
