ABSTRACT:
A disposable padlock which cannot be opened by a key but whose locking effect can only be nullified by the use of sufficient force to deform the padlock. A shackle is automatically engaged when inserted into a body portion of the padlock. Engagement members mounted in the body portion are biassed to engage recesses in limbs of the shackle in such a way that the padlock will deform before the shackle will be removed by the application of force. Means may be provided for preventing rotation of the limbs of a sheared shackle engaged by the body portion.
