ABSTRACT:
Filter for removal of ozone from air, e.g. in aircraft cabins, comprising a porous and preferably light weight and thermally stable substrate, particularly an organic polymer such as polybenzimidazole, containing a film or coating of manganese dioxide. The article can be formed by treating the substrate with a permanganate solution under conditions to reduce the permanganate to MnO.sub.2.
