ABSTRACT:
The removal of dissolved oxygen from aqueous systems, such as steam generating systems, thereby inhibiting the corrosion of metal surfaces by adding to the system a composition in which the effective component is an oxime of the formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different and are selected from hydrogen, lower alkyl groups of 1-8 carbon atoms and aryl groups.
