ABSTRACT:
Monohydric primary or secondary saturated and unsaturated alcohols are oxidatively dehydrogenated to the corresponding aldehyde or ketone over a gold catalyst at temperatures between 280.degree.-600.degree. C. in the presence of oxygen.
