ABSTRACT:
This invention is a composition useful for dyeing keratinous fibers black without using o-, m- or p-phenylenediamine, 2,4-diaminoanisole or nitro compounds. The composition consists essentially of 1,5-dihydroxynaphthalene, 4,4'-diaminodiphenylamine or a suitable acid addition salt thereof, p-aminodiphenylamine or a suitable acid addition salt thereof, a suitable modifier, a suitable coupler and a suitable base. This composition in combination with an oxidizing agent dyes hair black.
