ABSTRACT:
The oxidation catalyst of this application is prepared by grinding and heat treating the tuff consisting essentially of SiO.sub.2, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and H.sub.2 O, and containing a total of 1 to 10% by weight of an alkaline metal oxide and alkaline earth metal oxide and having the X-ray diffraction pattern shown in the Table I or Table II. This catalyst eliminates NO in a dry exhaust gas which contains at least a small amount of oxygen.
