ABSTRACT:
An osmotic dispensing device is disclosed for delivering a medicine to a biological environment of use. The device comprises a semipermeable wall surrounding a compartment comprising a first layer comprising a beneficial agent formulation and a first passageway in the wall for delivering the beneficial agent formulation from the device, and a second layer of a composition comprising a hydrogel and a means for closing a second passageway formed during the manufacture of the device.
