ABSTRACT:
An apparatus for evaluating the performance characteristics of an oscillometric blood pressure monitor is presented. In accordance with the present invention, a novel closed-loop system is used to synthesize physiologically-correct pneumatic pulse waveforms and oscillometric envelopes in order to allow dynamic performance evaluation of any oscillometric monitor, regardless of manufacturer.
