Organosilicon-containing materials are useful in articles such as biomedical devices, including contact lenses. The materials include macromonomers endcapped with at least one ethylenically unsaturated radical, and monomers. The macromonomers and monomers include units of the formula: ##STR1## wherein: each Y is --O-- or --NR.sup.30 -- wherein R.sup.30 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl;
