ABSTRACT:
According to the invention, the extractor is a reflection concentrator. The entry section of the extractor has a larger area than its exit section. The reflecting side walls of the extractor have a suitable shape so that it makes an angle called the cut-off angle θlim, which corresponds to a limiting wavelength λC-limfor transmission from this extractor for a given optical cavity. Applied to diode-based image displays, the invention broadens the viewing angles and improves the colour purity of the images displayed.
