ABSTRACT:
A system for protecting oral tissue or retaining an object at a location in the mouth, consisting of a body of polymeric material extending from a tooth and over the tissue or location and a retaining means which attaches the material to the tooth. The object might be a medication delivery device, and, in particular, a medicated strip which can be inserted into a periodontal pocket. The retaining means might be a fixture tied to or adhesively bonded to the tooth, or the material might be directly adhesively bonded to the tooth. The polymeric material would be specially formulated to suit this application.
