ABSTRACT:
An optimized transmission line switch comprises a first high frequency diode and means for counteracting the capacitive component of the first diode. Unpackaged diode chips are utilized to avoid parasitics introduced by diode packages. A two diode switch installed in a reduced height waveguide section provides isolation comparable to prior art switches while providing greatly improved insertion loss.
