ABSTRACT:
The invention is to provide an asymmetric reaction catalyst useful for the production of medical or agricultural chemicals or intermediates thereof. The catalyst comprises an optically active monophosphino carboxylic acid derivative represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## where R.sup.1 represents a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group or phenyl group which may be optionally substituted with a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group or C.sub.1-4 alkoxy group,
