ABSTRACT:
Dyes of the formula ##STR1## wherein Y completes a benzothiazole or benzoselenazole nucleus, R.sub.1 is alkyl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are hydrogen, alkyl or phenyl and Z is alkylene, are suitable for sensitizing fine grain silver halide emulsions.
