A new optical recording medium capable of reducing the burden in erasing data in the optical recording medium is provided. The optical recording medium includes an organic pigment recording layer12and a light reflecting layer14, which are at least laminated on a substrate11, wherein a photocatalyst layer13is formed in contact with the organic pigment recording layer12.
